J.D. Power and Micrometrics Collaborate to help North American Airports Recover from COVID-19 with Contactless Passenger Engagement Platform
In these unprecedented times, North American airports are feeling the need to collect survey data from passengers while in their terminals more than ever. J.D. Power and Micrometrics’ joint product, Passenger View, is being offered at no cost through December 31, 2020, to help solve this challenge.
Passenger View is a smartphone-based engagement solution that works with an airport’s Wi-Fi system to deliver short, in-the-moment surveys to passengers who log on to airport Wi-Fi. The platform is in current use at half a dozen US airports, bringing in over 1,000 responses a day at each airport. Surveys about passengers’ views on COVID-19 risks and their views on effective airport strategies are being prioritized across major airports to deal with the impact of the pandemic.
Passenger View works with all known Wi-Fi systems, including those managed by third parties. Passengers can also opt out of the survey at any time if they don’t wish to be surveyed
“As many airports are feeling the economic effects of COVID-19 crisis, we want to offer airport managers the chance to monitor passenger moods,” said Michael Taylor, Practice Lead for Travel at J.D. Power. “Passenger View is easy to install and doesn’t interfere with passenger access to the internet. In the current crisis, we’re offering this service at absolutely no cost to airports through the end of 2020.”
Passenger View can collect feedback from anywhere airport Wi-Fi exists, operates 24/7/365, gathers targeted information at specific locations on the airport and can be used to measure COVID attitudes, cleanliness perceptions, NPS, passenger satisfaction, loyalty or any other topic of interest to airport managers.
